[Mash-Up Mix] Party Ben's X-MIX/KJEE MIX

Party Ben, a great trackmaker in San Francisco, has updated his DJ mix on the web site. The half-hour new mix seems to be produced for the radio program of 91X in San Diego and KJEE in Santa Barbara.
As well as Sixx Mixx, the mix is half-hour, and he will update such a mix regulary. Iwill be looking forward to updating his mix from now on.

もはや伝説となったMash-Up Mix、"SIXX MIXX"の終了から約半年。
Party Benが、新たなる30分のMixをリリースしました。
これは、サンディエゴの"91X"、サンタバーバラの"KJEE"という
ラジオ曲の番組用につくられたものらしく、
これからも約１ヶ月に一度くらいのペースでリリースするようです。

気になる中身の方も、SIxx Mixxファンにはたまらない懐かしいものから、
ここ最近のマッシュアップまで幅広い内容。
これからも先も最新のmixが出るのが本当に楽しみです。

A great bootlegger in France DJ moule's new mash-up.
It mixed Katerine with Red Hot Chili Peppers featuring Jackson 5.
His mashup is a pretty work as usual, but in my opinion, if he had used Jackson5's tune, it might have been better,
Anyway, to be sure, this is a wonderful one.



DJ Zebraと並び、フランスを代表する偉大なマッシュアッパー、DJ Moule。
このブログでも何度も取り上げていますが、
そんな彼の最新マッシュアップがこれ。
フランスのお洒落ミュージックの代表格「カトリーヌ」に、
今年のフジロックのメインアクター「レッドホットチリペッパーズ」、
そして永遠のスタンダード「ジャクソン５」をブレンド。

とにかくファンキーでかっこいい、の一言につきます。
個人的には、もう少しジャクソン５を使って欲しかった。
それにつけても、いいです。すばらしい。

It is suprising Pink Floyd and Nancy Sinatra are on the same wavelength.
EARLYBIRD, a star bootlegger in Uganda, takes blend of the Pink Floyd's "Another brick in the wall" with N.Sinatra's "These boots are made for walking". This is awesome one I have never listened to. You should try it now!



おそらくウガンダでただ一人のブートレガー、EARLYBIRDさんの
驚異的なマッシュアップ。
あのピンクフロイドの、あの"Another brick in the wall"と、
ナンシーシナトラの、最近CMでも使われていた
"These boots are made for walking"とのコラボレーション。

この２アーティストが、こんなに気持ち良く調和するなんて、
かなり驚きです。
とにかく、このマッシュアップのアイディアに脱帽。
素晴らしいの一言に尽きる作品です。是非聴いてみてください。

The bootleger in the U.S., "DJ Matt Hite", has released his brand-new dj mix on his website. It seems to be aired on Saturday, April 29th, 2006, on Grand Master Flash's "Flash Mash" SIRIUS radio show. According to his website, one gracious GYBO reader called it “the best bootleg mix so far this year.”
That is certainly very nice mix, including some of the greatest bootlegers's mash-ups, for example Earworm, Team9, Zebra, GHP and 2 Many DJs.
Talking to DJ Zebra, he will appear in a music event in the France with 2 Many DJs, Franz Ferdinand, Kelis, Tiga and so on...
That is a phenomenal line-up! He must be somebody. Success to him!

最新マッシュアップ・ミックス。
これは４月下旬に放送されたGrand Master Flashのラジオ番組のために
つくられたミックスのようです。
EarwormやTeam9やZebra、GHPから2 Many DJsまで、今を時めく
マッシュアップの達人たちのマッシュアップを収録。
マッシュアップ入門編として聴いてもいいかもしれません。

そうそう、DJ Zebraといえば、来月にノキアが主催する音楽イベントに、
2 Many DJsやFranz Ferdinand、Kelis、Tiga等と出演するもよう。

Gnarls Barkley is in the ascendant.
"Crazy", their first single, became the first ever UK number one based on download sales alone.

It goes without saying that Gnarls Barkley is a musical collaboration between Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo. We all know Danger Mouse is a star in the bootleg circle, mashed up the Beatles' White Album and Jay Z's Black Album - producing The Grey Album In 2004.

Therefore I think that his success a historical event in this circle. And many bootleggers are aiming at his position, mashed up many Crazy's bootlegs.
Now, I introduced to you some of them.



Gnarls Barkleyの快進撃が止まらないようですね。
ファーストシングル "Crazy" は、CD発売前にもかかわらず
ダウンロード・ポイントだけで４月３日付全英シングル・チャート
初登場１位を獲得し、UKチャート史上初の歴史的快挙を達成。
今年のフジロックにも出演が決定し、もはや飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢い。

Gnarls Barkleyは、言うまでもなくDanger MouseとCee-Loの謎のユニット。
そう、このページでも何度となく記事に登場してくるように、
BeatlesのWhite Albumと、 Jay ZのBlack Albumをマッシュアップさせた
The Grey Albumをつくった張本人。
このアルバム、2004年に様々なメディアに登場するくらい話題となり、
このようなことからDanger Mouseは一気に音楽シーンに知れ渡り、
昨年は、あのGorillazの"The Damons Day"のプロデューサーとして活躍。
そして、今年はGnarls Barkleyで全英No.1＆新記録を達成。

マッシュアップシーンから誕生した一人の男が、
イギリス音楽の歴史を塗り替えたということで、これは軽い事件です。
当然のように、多くのブートレガー達は、この"Crazy"をマッシュアップ。

I think this mash-up divides on the matter.
It is mixed the best hit song "It's not unusual" of Tom Jones and
"Firestarter" of the prodigy.
This is very nice and the mix is very well.Personally, I love this one.How do you feel?


CMにも使われたトムジョーンズの代表作"It's not unusual"と、
プロデジーの"Firestarter"とのマッシュアップ。
とても賛否両論ありそうな出来具合だけれども、
個人的には、非常に良いアイディアだと思うし、
なかなか美しくマッシュアップされた良作だと思います。

聴けば聴くほど味がでる、そんなマッシュアップ。
UK シングル・チャート No.1 を飾ったGnarls Barkleyの"Crazy"と、
数年前に大ブレイクしたAvalanchesの"Frontier Psychiatrist"との
組み合わせ。

この２曲をマッシュアップしようと思ったこともよかったですし、
両方の曲のいい部分がとても素直に生かされていて、
素晴らしい仕上がりのマッシュアップですね。
久しぶりにいいなと思いました。

Pizzicato Five "Cut-Up" Album

A world famous japanese group "Pizzicato Five" seems to release the CUT-UP album the end of this month. I think that both the "CUT-UP" and "Mash-Up" are nearly same in meaning. This album which is cutted up by typical DJ's in Japan will attract the interest of many bootleggers in the wprld.
It is now available from iTunes. However this album is only available within Japan Store of iTunes, so you should change Japan Store into your country store in the establishment, if you listen it.

[Mash-Up] Chemical Brothers VS. Velvet Underground

Mark Vidler(Go Home Productions)recently released a new mash-up.
Chemical Brothers 'Galvanise' vocals with Velvet Undergrounds 'Sweet Jane' for the main part, held together with all manner of elements that made up MARRS 'Pump Up The Volume'.
Adina Howard pops in for some overused acapella duties, whilst U2 and a 'blink and you'll miss it' Blur sample surface for some air towards the end.
It is strange that a jacket of this mash-up is desined Japanese version. The jacket feels discomfort for japanese.



いまやすっかりマッシュアップシーンの大物と化した、

[Mash-Up] Kelis VS. Blondie

Lovely mashup!
That mashup mixed "Bossy" from Kelis with "One Way or Another" from Blondie is admirable. there is a nice idea and a wonderful one. But I think it is difficult for japanese not to be accepted such a sound, including Blondie, for example "Depeche Mode" and "Groove Armada", and so on. Why not? I do not the reason.
Anyway, the download is available. Listen and enjoy it.

映画『コヨーテ・アグリー』の挿入歌となったことで
