Arty Fufkin, Melbourne, Australia, has released new stuff used White Stripes' pre-sale tune. Its great one mixed "I Am The Walrus" by Beatles with Stripes' "Icky Thump". It is very interesting stuff that is a good mixture of Stripes' heavy and hard truck and Beatles' rough voice.

[News] Denon DJ Mix & Mash Challenge

Denon, professional DJ equipment manufacturer, has held a unprecedented Mash-Up contest. According to the official website, "aspiring DJs have a chance to be heard and win gear & prizes in the Denon DJ "Mix & Mash Challenge" Contest. One Grand Prize Winner and five Runner-Ups will be chosen by voters and a Blue Ribbon panel of judges".
Unfortunately, participants must be 18 years or older, a legal US resident. What's a obstinate rule. Anyway, if you are over 18 American, it worths taking part in the competition. If you are not American, you might be able to vote participants's works they made.



ＤＪ用機材でもお馴染みのオーディオメーカー「Denon」が、前代未聞のマッシュアップ・コンテストを開催しています。ホームページを見る限りは、ハウス・ヒップホップ・ロックのジャンルの中から楽曲をダウンロード。その後、マッシュアップを制作後にウェブサイトへ投稿、視聴者の投票によって勝者が決められ、入賞者には豪華な賞品が送られるようです。
ただ残念なことに、このコンテストの参加資格に１８歳以上のアメリカ合衆国在住者というとんでもない縛りがあるため、このブログを見ているたいていの方は参加できないようです。ただ、投票はできるようなので、是非一度ご覧ください。まだコンテスト自体が始まったばかりで、認知が低いようで、現段階ではあまり作品が集まっていないようです。

Party Ben seems to be impressed by 2 Many DJ's, often plays Technotronic's classical truck. Anyway, it's the marvelous truck and wonderful beat.

I got an email about a Japanese Mash-up from Simon Iddol, truckmaker/bootlegger and creater of a compilation series of WHA!?. He has complited great stuff which mixed a new Baile Funk queen "Tigarah" from Japan. Actually, it is super cool stuff and also the cover art. It worths listening to!


人気の裏マッシュアップ・コンピレーション・シリーズ「WHA!?」のクリエーターでもあり、自身もブートレガーとして活躍するSimon Iddolより先日、日本ネタのマッシュアップについてメールをもらいました。これは、彼が先頃完成させた、日本の次世代を担う新バイレ・ファンキ・クイーン「Tigarah」をネタにした最新のマッシュアップについてです。実際、かなり良い感じのブレンドに仕上がっています。さらに注目なのはそのジャケット。この曲の雰囲気に合っているような気がします。

What an awesome dream match!
This is a mix of Ed Banger Crew (Pedro Winter, Medhi, So-Me, Xavier (Justice) and David Dewaele (2 Many Dj's) at Cinespace, LA, on 1st May 2007. In fact, the mix they did is not so good, but there are ace selections of music, such as the first song "Where is my mind" by Pixies. I've got the tracklist of this session but don't know about some of them.

A few day ago, I received email about new Japanese stuff from DJ Lobsterdust, who is New York's young aggressive truckmaker.
He's released his second Japanese Mash-Up truck "My Ireplaceable" which mixed American Super Star "Beyonce" with a Japanese elegant band "Tommy Heavenly6", followed by his first stuff.
This one is really good. It is blended perfectly wonderderfully. I am sure it's worth listening to ang grabbing.



数日前、ＮＹ在住の新進気鋭のブートレガー「DJ Lobsterdust」から、新作の和物マッシュアップが完成したとの連絡を直接メールをもらいました。彼の最初の作品Beastie BoysとLove Psychedelicoのブレンドに続く第二弾は、アメリカのスーパースター「ビヨンセ」と、日本が生んだアバンギャルドバンド「Tommy Heavenly6」との組み合わせ。
これがまた、驚く位に自然に調和している、素晴らしい傑作となっています。

[Mash-Up] GO HOME PRODUCTIONS 'SIX PACK'

Go Home Production, the leader of the Mash-Up market, released free six mash-ups today, called "Six Pack". This is the follow-up of the MPFree EP he released last year. This pack contains mash-ups of "The Beatles", "Radiohead", "Justice" and so on. All stuff are short trucks within 200 min, so it is the best size for me.



今やマッシュアップ・シーンを引っ張る存在となった、イギリスのGo Home Productionが、新曲６曲を本日公開しました。これは、Six Packと名付けられており、昨年本人がリリースした"MPFree EP"というレコードをイメージしたコンセプト・マッシュアップの続編として位置づけられています。このパックの中には、お馴染みのビートルズを始め、レディオヘッドやマドンナ等のブレンドが収録済み。どのマッシュアップも比較的短いものが多いのですが、個人的にはこのような短いマッシュアップの方が聞きやすいので、とても気に入っています。

[Event] Shokkaboy's Two gigs in Japan

I reannounce special parties in Japan.
Shokkaboy a.k.a. Fujikato, from Berlin, is going to Japan again in May and playing djing at superb parties on Saturday 12th, 19th May.
He just visited Japan this January but he seems that he has been eager for coming back since he left Japan. This time, he plays djing in Shibuya and Shinjuku. Both parties will be really awesome, in particular the party in Shinjuku "Minors Holiday Cafe". This party is popular among Japanese young people who is in music and some of the greatest DJs, such as Yasuharu Konishi (ex Pizzicato Five) in Japan is going to play there.
If you are in Japan then, go there and catch them.

明日１２日は、渋谷のラッシュで、Shokkaboyの盟友でもあるMM28に加え、期待の新人エレクトロックバンド「Reloaded 21 Film」のライブアクトも予定されている、この日限りのスペシャルイベント。
１９日は、新宿otoの人気イベントの１つ「Minors Holiday Cafe」８周年記念イベントのゲストとして出演。元ピチカートファイブの小西康陽さんや元シアターブルックの吉沢dynamite.jpさんらも出演予定。

Cheekyboy's latest stuff is clever one.
He mixed Coldplay's hit tune "god put a smile on your face" with its super funkey cover by Mark Ronson, who is recenly very popular with the British. As the mix of coldplay's track by Ronson has no vocal, it must be a good match. I love it.


Cheekyboyの最新作は、かなり反則的なマッシュアップ。
コールドプレイのヒット曲"god put a smile on your face"のアカペラに、現在イギリスで大人気中のMark Ronsonによる同曲のカバーをブレンド。このカバー曲は、もともとインストだったために、それにオリジナルのアカペラを乗っけているだけなので、もちろん言うまでも相性は抜群。でも、相当カッコイイです。
